The Bull

After many years looking a little sorry for itself. The John Bull underwent a major refurbishment in November 2007 and was re-named The Bull.

A new kitchen was built, toilets upgraded and an extension to the lounge bar, together with an attractive external drinking area. The new look has been carefully thought out to retain the traditional pub features whilst providing a fresh, modern appearance where you can enjoy eating, drinking and socialising..... A place worth travelling for!

Clearly the quality and choice of food is very important as is the level of service. Our team is committed to delivering on all three counts.

The pub has been known throughout Lincolnshire for the Sunday carvery and this is a reputation we intend to uphold. The beef we sell is locally sourced from our family butchers in Lincoln. The meat is hung for 28 days, the quality is exceptional and our other meat products are, for the most part, also sourced locally. The specials board which accompanies this menu has a selection of fresh seafood as well as other homemade dishes.

We also recognise that value is important to our customers and we have introduced a discounted steak night on Thursdays when booking is strongly advised. We continue with the 2 meals for 8 offer (Mon-Fri) and the range of dishes has increased. There is also a value carvery served every Wednesday at 4.50 per person from 12noon to 6.30pm.

Large parties and family celebrations are most welcome at the Bull and we are able to cater for any special requirements to make your event memorable and in particular our new children's menu should prove popular.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our Pub and Dining Room and our new menu.

We went here shortly after pubs were allowed to reopen, but seating only outside. It was our first time visiting, but won't be the last.

The outside seating area is simply picnic benches, but there was plenty of space between tables, but no covering (it drizzled for 5 minutes). Despite the waiting staff being inside, it didn't take too long to order drinks and food when we wanted then.

The food was absolutely delicious. And all the waiting staff loved all of the dogs that visited. The garden area is mostly enclosed so it felt safe.
