National Trust - Dunstable Downs and Whipsnade Estate

Image

Dunstable Downs is situated within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is the highest point in Bedfordshire. From the top of Dunstable Downs you'll be able to experience breathtaking views. The site is also home to many historical features including two ancient monuments - Five Knolls and Medieval Rabbit Warrens. There are miles of footpaths across the grasslands of the Downs offering several circular walks. The Downs have a fascinating history and feature an abundance of plants and wildlife.

Dogs are welcome in most areas of the estate at Dunstable Downs. There are just two clearly marked places where visitors are asked not to take their dogs - the ground nesting birds, and kite flying areas. You can find a map of the estate online to plan your routes.
