Brinkburn Priory and Manor House

Brinkburn Priory is tucked away amongst the woodland, within a picturesque loop of the River Coquet. Lace up your boots and take a scenic ten minute walk from the car park to discover this hidden gem.

The 12th-century church of the Augustinian Priory was completely reroofed and restored in the mid-19th century. It is one of the best examples of early Gothic architecture in Northumberland. Stepping inside will transport you back in time. See the striking stained glass windows and William Hill organ. And while you’re there sing a song to appreciate the beautiful acoustics of the building.

Pick a spot on the grass or a bench to take in the tranquillity of this unique place. There’s lots of space for little legs to have fun too. And if you’re lucky you might even see otters in the river while you’re here.
