Ambleside's first and friendliest cafe. Family-run and family-friendly. Dog-friendly. Limited free parking available. Sunny outside courtyard (and dogs welcome indoors too). Fresh homemade fare. All-day breakfasts, homemade soups, spectacular quiches baked on the premises daily, lunches, snacks, homemade cakes and ice-cream. Superb coffee, speciality teas and refreshing smoothies and milkshakes. Veggie, vegan and gluten-free options available.

Every time we come here we enjoy delicious homemade food and our dogs are made really welcome, as are we. It's a family run cafe and it is quite small so I gave it an 8 but it's not really a problem - just means it fills up fast, we usually like to sit outside so the dogs have more space but they're welcome inside too and but it's totally worth popping back even if it's full at first.
You can also get takaway food and drinks - ideal if you want a picnic on your walk. We usually park in the Pay and Display just behind the cafe and explore Ambleside too after we've been for a walk.
