The Horse & Groom

The Horse and Groom has been serving the needs of locals and passers-by alike for some 300 years, and with all that history the building exudes character and atmosphere from every beam and flagstone. You'll find log fires burning, lots of cosy corners to tuck yourself away, and a well-stocked bar right at the heart of things. Our chefs create delicious seasonally inspired menus in the theme of modern British cookery, always including hearty classic pub favourites as well as introducing something a little different, or a little lighter for all occasions. Whilst primarily an adult's environment, children are welcome in areas away from the bar, although the pub is not very suitable for babies and toddlers in the evenings. We have changing facilities and some high chairs available.

Dogs of the well behaved and on-the leash variety are welcome in the bar area. . . Every 6 weeks we host a pub walk on the route our friends at iFootpath have created specifically for us here at The Horse & Groom. There will be a complimentary bacon roll and hot drink waiting for you. The walk will commence at 9:30am and lasts between 1.5 - 2 hours meaning we arrive back at the pub, just in time for a spot of lunch. All are welcome, including any 4 legged friends who may wish to come along and join us.
