Meon Valley Tail

Image

The Meon Valley Trail is part of South Downs National Park. It was once a railway lining running from Fareham to Alton. Now it is an 11 mile trail running from West Meon to Wickham. The trail is shared by dog walkers, horse riders and cyclists but there is plenty of room for everyone. It is a mostly flat trail so perfect for pushchairs and mobility scooters also. There is free parking at either end of the trail and each end houses a small town where local pubs and facilities can be accessed. It is a beautiful walk with plenty of opportunity to allow dogs off the lead. Just remember to ensure they are under control around any livestock you may see.

This is a lovely flat walk so perfect for everyone. The best part of it is that it is a straight route and so you can make the walk as long or short as you like. There are no facilities on route but pubs at either end and toilets at the start if starting from Wickham and parking and either end. Definitely recommend it. Even on a hot day there is plenty of cover from the trees.
