Mid Hants Railway 'Watercress Line'

Let of steam on a heritage railway, a magical day out for all the family (including the dog!)

Whatever the time of year, there is always much to see and do at the Watercress Line. Travelling the 10 mile line from one end to the other takes approximately 40 minutes. Your ticket gives you ALL DAY UNLIMITED TRAVEL, allowing you to hop on and off at any of the four stations. Alesford, Ropely, Medstead & Four marks and Alton.

All of the stops have lots of things to do and see, including gift shops, picnic areas, the west country buffet at Alesford, Kings cross bridge, childrens play area and miniature railway in Ropely, the 'goods shed exhibition' and photo exhibition at Medstead & four marks and the model railway at Alton.

Alesford and Alton are close to the town centres offering plenty more things to do and see and there are some wonderful walks around 3 of the stations (Alesford, Meadsted & four marks and Alton).

A variety of family events are hosted throughout the year, including Day out with Thomas, Wizard Weekends, Family fun days and Santa special.

There are toilets on all of the trains and at all of the stations.

Dogs are most welcome and travel free on the line.

There is parking available at Alesford (30p per hour or £1.50 for over 4 hours) and also at Alton ( £2 Weekends and £7.50 Weekdays)
