“I'd wanted to visit Braai since last summer, so I was really excited to finally make it there. The concept is brilliant. It's a seasonal pop-up restaurant set inside a barn with the most beautiful countryside views, serving incredible quality meat, great wines and locally brewed beers. It's such a unique place to spend an evening. The food definitely lived up to expectations. The quality of the meat was fantastic and really tasty. Although, I won't lie, the garlic potatoes weren't the one. I would go for the half chicken, coleslaw and fries every day! Unfortunately, our visit was let down by the service. It sounded like they were short-staffed and also dealing with some technical issues on the day, which I appreciate can happen, but it did mean service was really very slow and disorganised. Tables weren't being cleared, it took an hour to get our drinks and to be honest, it was a disaster. The staff were really friendly though, it wasn't their fault, but it was a shame. I don't think this was a true reflection of what Braai is usually like, and I'd absolutely go back because I love the whole concept. That said, I probably wouldn't rush back after this particular experience. I'd also recommend booking an earlier table than we did (8pm), as a few dishes had already sold out by the time we ordered. Overall, I'd still recommend giving Braai a try, just perhaps don't go if you're in a hurry. It feels like we were just unlucky on the day, and I'd happily give it another chance.”
