This is not your usual type of museum. The Cornwall at war museum has a wide remit, initially dedicated primarily to RAF Davidstow moor from its opening on 1st October 1942 until its closure at the end of 1945. The museum covers all aspects of Cornwall and its military.

The museum is located on the second world war airfield on Davidstow Moor, has been set up to commemorate the work and people of RAF Davidstow Moor. Many exhibits cover life in World War II in Cornwall, including other airfields along the North Cornwall Coast, the Royal Navy, Army and civilian services. Other exhibits include artefacts from the Royal observer Corps and Light Infantry, vehicles and weapons.

An impressive new hanger was completed in 2016 and now houses a growing collection of larger exhibits including a Fairey Gannet and Hawker Hunter F.6 aircraft, the cockpit section of a DH Vampire T.11 as well as a number of rare airfield and military vehicles.

There is also a do-it-yourself NAAFI on-site for hot & cold drinks, crisps ect with comfortable seating and WW2 newspapers to read.
