Halsetown Inn
The pub sources everything from produce to fuel as sustainably and ethically as possible. Built by a Victorian philanthropist in 1831 this inn has impeccable eco credentials and has won awards for its efforts. Inside, comfort and character abound with a choice of cosy corners, two open fires, an old Cornish range, and deep red walls. Tuck into the likes of pan-fried scallops with caramelised cauliflower and apple, followed by slow roasted pork belly with black pudding and cheddar hash brown, spring greens, cider gravy and onion rings. Leave room for puddings, especially rosewater panna cotta with pistachio biscotti. Vegetarians are well-served, children have their own menu, and special Wine and Dine evenings draw a happy crowd. You can walk from St Ives if the spirit moves you, then sit at the bar with a pint of Doom Bar or Skinner's ale or even a Cornish gin or a pastis! A pub with huge soul and great character.
