Lydiard Park
As you go round the park, you will see many of the remnants of this once-grand country estate. Many of the 18th century historic landscape features have been restored, including the Ice House in the woodlands near the house, which was used to store ice to chill food in the house in the summer months. The large lake was also reinstated and the Georgian Walled Garden was restored to its former glory.

This is the local park for a family member of ours who likes to bring us here when we visit. It has a large stately looking house in a vast green space, with an unfenced lake at the bottom. There are also some woodland areas to explore. During the summer months there are restricted times when dogs can be let off lead on the green areas due to picnickers so do check the website before you plan to visit.
