Nestled in north Shropshire, bordering Cheshire and Wales, we are a small family run business, always looking for ways to innovate and grow.

Alderford is a great place to meet with family and friends, whatever the season. The lake is surrounded by countryside with designated walks for visitors. We have a lakeside café that, like the Alder tree, provides shelter, warmth and comfort. And it’s in here that we share our love for good homemade food and favourite Shropshire and Cheshire produce.

lderford café overlooks the lake, so come rain or shine there’s always something to see. All the food on the menu is homemade by the Alderford café team and reflects our belief in using fresh, local ingredients wherever possible. We have seasonal specials as well as the Alderford favourites, which include the Eggs Benedict and Lynn’s homemade scones – which are highly acclaimed and form the mainstay of our afternoon teas. Vegan and vegetarian dishes are available.

For those who prefer to be in the lake, we welcome wild swimmers. The water quality is very good and we attract all types of swimmers – from those trying wild swimming for the first time to triathletes.
