Middleton Lakes
This location is run by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
Just as a polite reminder that we are a nature reserve where dogs are only permitted on the public right of way on a lead. Some areas of the site are not for dog walking due to the wildlife that lives there and sensitivity to dogs. This is marked throughout the reserve. Also, we do not have bins on the reserve so we would like to remind people to take any litter and dog waste bags with them and the closest dog waste bin is located at Middleton Hall. The courtyard is part of our neighbours site at Middleton Hall where dogs are permitted outside.
The reserve hosts several rare & scarce bird & mammal species, which can be disturbed by the presence of dogs, and therefore it's important that dogs are kept under control at all times. Great place for bird-watching, with a car park, toilets and a few unique shops selling ice cream, antiques and cheese in the courtyard.
There are wild horses, birds and other animals on the site and there are activities for children and events during the holidays.
