We had a lovely stay at Ansty Hall with our dog. The communal areas are a real highlight, having been renovated in 2023 when Exclusive Collection took over. The interiors are gorgeous, with warm, soft furnishings and a really timeless style. Everything feels beautifully designed but still welcoming and comfortable.
The grounds are another huge selling point. The hotel is set within eight acres, with plenty of space to walk the dogs, much of which is beautifully landscaped. There are also poo bins throughout the grounds, a huge car park and electric car charging available.
On arrival, Archie had a bed, bowls, treats, a towel and a walking map waiting for him. For us, there were plenty of snacks, including crisps, chocolates and lots of water, as well as a coffee machine with espresso capsules. There was also a personalised note and a box of chocolates, and the radio had been left playing when we arrived, which is always a lovely touch.
Our bedroom was absolutely massive, although it hadn't yet benefited from the renovations seen elsewhere in the hotel. Having seen the recently renovated rooms, they're really beautiful, and the team mentioned that they're planning to renovate one of the dog friendly rooms shortly. I'd be really interested in returning to stay in that room, as I think it has so much potential.
The food was incredible. I genuinely had the best pie and mash I've ever eaten, alongside a lovely Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, which I always appreciate! Breakfast was really good too, and there was a constant supply of dog bones on offer. Archie was even told at dinner that he could have a sausage for breakfast the following morning, which was a lovely touch!
Dogs are welcome to dine with you in the bar rather than the main restaurant, but this really isn't a bad thing as the bar itself is beautiful. We did find that the service was a little less attentive in this area, though. Some members of the restaurant team were clearly very experienced, while others were still finding their feet. That said, the reception team were very experienced and attentive throughout our stay.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The grounds, communal areas and food are fantastic, and I think that once the dog friendly bedrooms have been renovated, this will be a really special base, close to the beautiful (and very dog friendly) Stratford-Upon-Avon.
