Country park we visit regularly throughout the week during the day time

there’s a top car park and a bottom car park both are accessible if using wheelchairs

a gated play area for children in the bottom area

many nature trails with wooden beams for children to play amongst the trees also this natural play area of woden beams is fun for dogs to play on

there’s many separate areas of fields to play in

dogs are allowed on leads and off leads it’s a very popular area

the pathways from the bottom of oakwell hall all connect to different walks that meet at the top car park as well however at the moment the routes that are suitable for anyone using wheelchairs are all overgrown and certainly need cutting back

there accessible streams on the lowers area that dog owners allow dogs into

large ponds on the top area but due to the park being a educational nature area many water areas are not accessible for dogs as schools take children on trips to record the wildlife in the ponds etc

there’s a cafe at the top area

a duck pond next to it

a visitors shop leading on to educational rooms a barn that is known for having different art events as well as craft stalls at certain dates throughout the year

access to toilet facilities in this courtyard area

multiple paths leading to horse bridal-ways to a local farm with farmers fields

multiple family events are held in the fields throughout the year including open air concerts and youth club fun days for children and families we’ve taken picnics for years with a picnic mat and spent the day at this park

our puppy loves coming here

my children play football in the open fields and even though I’m disabled and need mobility aids to get Around I’m able to access everywhere when the flat areas are cut back

our puppy loves socialising with other pups at this park and it’s been a brilliant place to visit with her

she gets so excited when we arrive at oakwell hall

there’s also a historic house that you can buy tickets to visit but we’ve never done this with our dog

we’ve always attended this without her to hear the story of the ghost haunting the house which scared us as children we still go to this place as adults and now bring our own children who have joined in the educational visits with school too it’s a great place for families with dogs and children of all ages

they used to have baby and toddler groups in the top area near the house gardens I’m not sure if they still do as my children are teenagers now but they loved attending that when they were little

our puppy loves exploring this entire place with us

be aware that recently a female was recently trying to steal a puppy at this place and she attacked an owner whilst trying to kidnap her puppy

but don’t be put off visiting as it’s a lovely place to visit

its perfect to take family photos or pet photos with them enjoying the nature as well
