Pantibar
Pantibar opened in November 2007 and has been part of the fabric of the city ever since. Our aim was to combine elements of an old-school community gay bar with a modern, stylish, city-centre bar, and I think we’ve achieved that. We are just a few meters from the river Liffey on Dublin’s “North Side”, on much loved Capel Street. The street has always been an eclectic mix and remains so today, crammed with hundreds of small independent stores (everything from hardware stores to sex shops, bespoke tailors to antiques, workwear to rubber stamps, furniture to martial arts…) and restaurants (traditional fish & chips, Asian, Turkish…). There’s not a lot you can’t get on Capel Street, and Pantibar’s landmark illuminated sign stands proudly at the top of it.
If you are in the bar early evening there’s a good chance you’ll meet Jack Russell terriers. Panti’s Penny, or Shane the manager’s Bruno & Pedro.
