Take a stroll along Chalkwell Esplanade and you'll happen across this little gem of a Café. Choose whether you sit inside or order from the counter outside and enjoy a wide range of food and take in the views of the Thames Estuary.

Your four legged friends are welcome inside and out, although if you're going in, make sure they're on their best behaviour, clean and on a lead.

The staff are pleasant and attentive to humans, children and pooches all of which can enjoy readily available water, although humans and kids get theirs served in a glass!

There's lots of food to choose from whether you fancy a healthy option, vegan friendly or a good old Bacon sarnie, you'll not be disappointed.

Work up an appetite or work off your food, whichever way you go from Surf, you can walk for miles. You can head in the direction of Old Leigh or towards Southend and up towards Thorpe Bay and Shoeburyness if you really want a leg stretch. Take in Southend's scenery from the longest pleasure pier in the world to the views of Hadleigh Castle ruins – you won't be disappointed by what this town has to offer.
