This is our local beach, we are so lucky to live here, it’s completely dog friendly all year round and in one direction you can walk for over 6 miles on the sand, past Roanhead (Sandscale Hawes Nature Reserve) and on ... it’s a beautiful place to visit. It’s an estuary beach so great for walks on the sand but not for swimming.

There is a free car park - height restricted so larger vans or any sort of motorhome would have to park elsewhere.

One thing to note though, is that there are no facilities. There are no snack facilities or toilets, and whilst there is a Coop in the village (10 minutes walk from the car park) there are no public toilets at all in the village. There are some at Roanhead, but this is a 45ish minute walk, depending how fast you are!
