Petworth House and Park

The landscape surrounding Petworth gives every impression of being totally natural; in reality, nothing is further from the truth. The park and garden were transformed in the 1750s and early 1760s by the landscape architect Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. Dogs are welcome in the garden on a short lead Dogs allowed in Petworth Deer Park under close control. Please keep away from the deer at all times and do not allow your dog to chase the deer.
