Ham Hill Country Park

Image

Ham Hill Country Park is located in South Somerset. It has acres upon acres of off-lead walking, including enclosed fields, and woodland paths and trails. There are toilets located at the Ranger Hut along with 6/7 car parks, free to use 7 days a week.

One nice walk is following the Liberty Trail down to Little Norton and visiting The Lord Nelson for lunch. It takes about 30 minutes each way and is a lovely scenic walk.

If you have an older dog, puppy or simply do not have the time for a long walk, you can potter around the park and finish up at the Prince Of Wales Pub, which is completely dog-friendly and offers dog biscuits for 20p. They have a beautiful view outside across the valley, so if the sun is shining I recommend sitting outside and enjoying the weather!

Also on site occasionally is an ice-cream van. Perfect to cool off after a hot summer walk, or even just as a treat. There is a car park next door to the van, but also several large stones to sit on and enjoy the views of the countryside.

Ham Hill really is a scenic and beautiful place to walk your dog. You can meet so many dog owners and feel completely comfortable when walking your dog!
