Castle Campbell

Image

Get up close to the Lowland stronghold of a powerful Highland clan. This forbidding fortress high above Dollar Glen belonged to the Campbell earls of Argyll, an important family in medieval Scotland.Built in the 1400s, this remarkably complete castle offers beautiful views of the surrounding glen. Once you have explored the tower and the loggia, you can enjoy the wonderful surrounding woodland walk and its waterfalls.Dogs are permitted throughout the site and, in keeping with the Historic Scotland dogs policy, but be kept on lead and attended at all times.
