Dunfermline Abbey and Palace
4.9
·
1 review
Founded as a priory, Dunfermline was made an abbey by David I and later became a royal mausoleum. This largely intact ruin offers breathtaking views across the glen from the palace windows.Following Historic Scotlands dog policy, they are permitted in non-roofed areas whilst on lead and must be attended to at all times. This site is predominantly a ruin, and therefore dogs are welcome across most of the site.

“
This was a wonderful day out with plenty to see and a lot of ground to cover. Some of the spiral staircases are very steep so turns may need to be taken up some of the levels.
