Victoria Park - Glasgow
Victoria Park is one of the big green areas in the West End of Glasgow.
The park includes a flower bed area, 2 ponds, tennis and basketball courts, bowling greens, a children's play area, the Fossil Grove and some grassy areas. There are benches around the park as well as some BBQ tables. There is also a small Kiosk and toilets, but they are only available during summer school holiday, and some random days.
The park connects through the Westland Drive exit to the "Victoria Park Nature Trail", which is a nice short walk.
This place is very nice to walk the dogs and throw a ball for them, however keep in mind this park is also very family friendly and you might find a lot of children and people having picnics. Additionally, depending on the day and time you might find some sports practices, organised runs or special events (like summer inflatables or the circus).
The Fossil Grove offers a different sight of the park, where bushes and trees are home to squirrels and birds, and at the back there is a small pond as well.
The only area dogs are recommended to be kept on the lead or under strict control, is around the flower beds and the ponds, mainly due to the maintenance of the areas as well as giving protection to the wild life.
Due to it's location is mainly visited by neighbours of the park, but there are different bus links that will drop you close to the park, and the closes train stations are Jordanhill and Scotstoun (approximately 15 min away walking). And there is some free, on street parking around the area.
