Barony Castle Hotel
This imposing 16th century Castle has evolved into a traditional welcoming Hotel, Conference & Wedding Venue, located just 35 minutes (17 miles) south of Edinburgh on the edge of the Scottish Borders. The lovely town of Peebles, which sits on the banks of the celebrated River Tweed, is only a 10-minute drive away.
Explore the many bike and forest walking routes around Glentress, visit the grand Traquair House or discover the Great Polish Map located in the 25 acres surrounding the hotel. Rosslyn Chapel and the Go Ape treetop adventure course are located only a short drive from the Castle estate.
Barony Castle Hotel offers 83 bedrooms featuring single and double as well as Family Rooms, and Junior & Superior Suites. The welcoming bedrooms offer all home comforts, a child friendly environment and dogs are allowed in a limited amount of bedrooms for an additional fee. Every room is unique with differing views of the surrounding castle estate, garden and glen.

A really warm greeting for the doggles and we were directed to the pot of dog biccies next to reception. On hearing I had dogs with me I was put in a room with easy access to the outside which was lovely. It is an extra £15 per dog per night but at least large doggles are allowed. They're also happy to confirm this unlike two other places in the area that never bothered to reply to my enquiry checking if it was ok to bring my two.
