An enjoyable country park to explore! Routes through woodlands, along the river and around various points to see including castle ruins. Free to get in and a large car park.
We've went a couple of weeks ago, and even though the cafe isn't open at the moment , you can still walk around the park. It's huge, and you could easily walk for miles as there are so many different routes you can take to make your walk longer or shorter. There are fields, and areas where you are shaded by the trees, a park for kids, and a river with a few bits that your dogs can play in (and you can join them if you fancy braving the cold water or bring wellies!). There are beautiful little nooks throughout, like the bridges, and castle ruins, although I'd maybe avoid going on Easter Sunday unless you're okay with your doggo potentially eating bits of decorated boiled eggs that the kids roll down the hills. The cafe is lovely too when it's open, they do hot drinks which you can takeaway or sit with, ice creams, cakes, and sandwiches, and there's a few outside areas that you can sit with your dog and relax.
