Llyn Cwm Llych
Starting your walk and Storey Arms you follow the route towards Penyfan. The route is quite steep so not for the faint hearted. After about a mile there is a path to the left which takes you down to Llyn Cwm Llwch lake. The lake is used by cold water swimmers and is a beautiful place to stop take in the views and enjoy a picnic. You also pass the memorial stone for 5 year old Tommy Jones. At the top of the path you are just a stone throw away from Corn Du and Penyfan so these can be added to your route if wanted. There is also a permanent food van at the car park so you can treat yourself to some hot food and a drink at the end of your walk
Llyn Cwm Llwch is the best preserved glacial lake in South Wales and sits right at the head of the Cwm Llwch valley – part of the Brecon Beacons Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Geological Conservation Review (GCR) site.
