Cosmeston Medieval Village

This dog friendly attraction is a gorgeous little place to walk the dogs around. There’s also a lake nearby, wildflower meadows and woodlands. There’s a cafe here too! We love this cheeky little adventure. There's just so much for your pooch to sniff out in this historic medieval village.

Cosmeston lake and country park is a beautiful visit for anyone around the Vale of Glamorgan, stick to the path and walk around a lake full of wildlife with areas specifically created to help the conservation of bugs, birds and other critters that live near water, in trees or in swamp-like conditions. Leave the main path and explore fields upon fields. Some fields are enclosed so dogs cannot escape. There is plenty of enrichment for dogs of all sizes, ages and health levels.

If you have children the park has recently been updated and in the summer you'll find small businesses ready to serve you a tasty treat and a cup of tea or coffee just before you enter the park. (please note that dogs are not allowed in the play area). you can usually grab yourself a warm drink from here on the weekends and holidays in the winter.

Situated within the country park you'll see a medieval village. This is open randomly throughout the year with actors reenacting how life was back then! It's worth checking if you want to visit to ensure that it is open, Please note there is also a small charge to enter this part of the country park - Last Christmas it even transformed into a Christmas village!

The park has a café that is dog friendly and there are toilets are located near the entrance. If you are visiting for the first time there is also a welcome desk you could take advantage of if you have any questions about the park or if you need a map!
