Charlton Park Care Home

Charlton Park is one of Greenwich's Green Flag Award-winning sites.

The large, level, open and grassy park boasts Charlton House to the west of the site. It's one of the finest remaining examples of Jacobean architecture. The house is home to the Mulberry Tea Rooms. Around the house is an array of gardens. One of these, known as the sensory garden, specifically focuses on plants that can be appreciated by people with visual or physical disabilities.

The east side of the park caters for sports and fitness. There are football pitches and a floodlit grass training area with changing facilities for hire. There is also a cricket pitch which is used by Blackheath Cricket Club.

There is free to use outdoor gym equipment and table tennis tables, along with a children's playground, skate park and nearby refreshment facilities.

There is a children's play area and skate park as well as a cricket pitch - which is signposted to have no dogs on. Don't fear there is still a large field to explore, there is a footpath that goes down one edge but we prefer to do a loop of the field. The side closest to the cricket pitch does have several football pitches marked out so it is normally busy with teams playing on weekend mornings but during the week and/or evenings its free for all to use! At the other end of the field it has been left as a natural meadow/ nature reserve.

There are 2 small cafes located in the park, with the old cottage coffee shop being a popular place for owners to make use of the outdoor seating with their four-legged companions.

The footpath that goes from this cafe back to Charlton House is lined with large trees and a pawfect spot to hunt some squirrels! Don't worry no actual hunting done here, just a little bit of chase ;)

Charlton Park is on the green chain walk and a discover charlton trail that links up with nearby maryon wilson and maryon parks.
