Elmstead and Marvels Woods
The character of Elmstead Woods is largely one of an oak 'forest' although there is an occasional beech tree to be found plus at least one pocket of sweet chestnuts. One particular oak tree must be at least 200 years old but the majority are probably of the order of 100 years or thereabouts. The wood can be approached from Chinbrook Meadows as well as from Elmstead Lane.

There are some signposted trails you can follow around these woods, where you might be lucky enough to stumble upon some quaint tree carvings. We also found our own stick house just like Eyeore's!
