Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway
You can easily spend the whole day here with your doggle, taking a steam train ride, visiting the Museum of Scottish Railways and walking along the Forth foreshore. Your train ticket allows you unlimited hop on/hop off on the day of purchase (remember to check which colour timetable they are running) and if bought with your train ticket the museum entry (as of June 2018) is only an extra £2. Except for the special event days, which are very busy so not the best experience for your doggle, dogs are welcome on the trains (except the On Train Buffet Car), platform, visitor trail and museum. If you have a bigger dog it's probably best to stick to the quieter days to travel but they certainly welcome any size, apparently even Irish Wolfhounds have travelled these trains! Our DogFuriendly Explorer had a great day out and, as a large breed, can recommend Carriage B as the most roomy! He finished off his day by getting off at Kinneil Halt on the homeward afternoon journey and strolling along the Forth foreshore path back to Bo'ness Station, Water is available at Bo'ness Station.

A lovely place to visit. Check the website for event days (Thomas Days, in particular, can be very busy) and the timetable.
Staff are very friendly to dogs, and the nearby harbour walk provides a good opportunity to let the dogs stretch their legs.
Ample parking.
While we waited for the first train of the day the guard chatted to Tyree and told us they'd even had Irish Wolfhounds come ride the trains! We'd recommend going when they are likely to be quiet if you have a big dog so there's enough space but definitely still go. We did one of their recommended day outings that are on the website and loved it. Train ride in the morning then round the museum, back to the trains in the afternoon but got off a few stops early on the way back and walked along the Forth coastal path back to Bo'ness. A really great day out.
