Harperrig Reservoir
Popular with anglers and bird watchers alike, Harperrig reservoir offers a enjoyable walk for all levels. You can simpl stroll along the waters edge and enjoy the wildlife from the bird viewing huts, or it can be coupled with East Craigs hill for a longer and more challenging walk.
Keep an eye out for Cairns Castle whilst enjoying your walk. It is a ruined keep, dating from the 15th century and is located at the south west end of Harperrig Reservoir. It should be noted that this castle can be viewed from the exterior only and that there is no access.

Theres a bird watching hut and woodpecker trail nearby the "castle". Cairns castle is external views only, but is still a nice little find.
