Ganavan Sands

A beautiful beach, with a wonderful coast walk to the north. This lovely string of rural beaches, nestle around the clear waters of Ganavan Bay. This is the perfect place to come if you are looking for a tranquil, sandy beach with stunning scenery. A car park can be found at the end of Ganavan Sands Road and there is a small holiday village nearby. The partial ruins of 13th century Dunstaffnage Castle, where Flora MacDonald is said to have been held captive, is just a few miles up the coast and is well worth a visit.
