We are a family run, family friendly pub on the banks of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, in Gilwern. Our menus offer seasonal, small plates designed for sharing, with an ever changing cocktail menu. Canalside seating and courtyard garden with cosy, heated booths. We're dog friendly too! Casual and relaxed dining at it's best.

We visited The Towpath Inn after completing a long walk in the surrounding area. We were greeted at the entrance by a lovely gentleman who asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside and said dogs are more than welcome inside. As I often walk on my own this was a welcome relief as sometimes even though dogs are welcome outside they aren’t inside so I am unable to place an order. We didn’t stop for food this time but had a drink and sat in one of the outside booths. The staff were really friendly and made a fuss of Hardie which was well appreciated. There were a number of small free parking areas but lots within a couple of minutes walking distance of the pub and there were plenty of water bowls available outside. Will definitely return and will try some food next time around.
