The Boat Inn - Chepstow
The Boat Inn is a small cottage style, dog friendly pub. The views around here are spectacular so sitting outside is definitely recommended. There are lots of lovely places to walk your dog before or after visiting (you can see this is a hot spot for hikers). The staff love our four legged furiends, providing water for dogs and metal loops on each of the outside tables for you to tie up your lead. The beer garden is beautiful too.
Inside it's quirky and cosy but also really tiny… which on a wet day fills up very quickly. They have a lovely log fire, which will make you feel very cosy in the Winter. The food here is simple, the choice is limited but the portion sizes are enormous, leaving you full and satisfied. If you’re into your beers and ales you will have a field day here.
This is a friendly local pub and many of the regulars also bring their dogs! There is parking around here but it can be difficult to find. Park at Redbrook (20p per two hours, bargain!) and walk across the river. The little walk over the footbridge is worth it, but bring sensible shoes.
