Nestled between Ambleside and Newby Bridge, this diamond place welcomes tourists year-after-year. Glistening with fantastic scenery and bursting with leisure activities. Wherever you walk in Windermere you'll be able to find a local viewpoint offering panoramic views of the lake and more distant mountains.

If you're keen on hiking, then you're not short of places to visit in Windermere and the rest of the Lake District. The town of Windermere has two parts: Windermere Town and Bowness-on-Windermere (known as Bowness). Both places have plenty of places to eat, sleep and be merry - but parking can be hard to come by. We reccomend planning accordingly.
