Llandudno Promenade & North Shore beach

Image

Llandudno Promenade is a wide, flat and accessible prom around 1.4 miles long with beautiful views. It runs between the great Orme and the Little Orme which are both great walking spots for dogs. It is a nice easy walk, accessible to all, a clean not cluttered promenade but till has plenty to do and see.

At one end of the prom you have the pier (with childrens rides, arcades, pub/cafe and various shops/stalls), You can often catch a punch and Judy show just outside of the pier entrance in the summer, you can also jump onto the land train or sightseeing bus from here too (both dog friendly) or walk down on the jetty next to the pier you can take a boat trip with your dog. The beach itself has restrictions for dogs during the summer so if you want to take your dog for a dip in the sea, you will need to walk down to the far end of the prom past the paddling pool.

There is benches all the way along the prom , facing the sea with a low wall behind them separating the prom from the road along with a few shelters with seating along the way so there is plenty of places to stop and admire the view.  About halfway down the prom you will pass the bandstand, if your lucky you may catch a performance here during the summer.

A little further down you will find the paddling pool. it is one of the largest paddling pools in Wales and a great place to take the kids for a splashabout. There is also a small cafe, public toilets, sheltered seating and picnic benches, unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the paddling pool area. There is also an enclosed childrens park next to the paddling pool.

Next you will see the lifeboat station which is an impressive, modern building that is open to the public only on specific days/times. You may even catch them launching for training.

Across the road you will see Bodafon farm, A free-admission active farm open to the public for visits, with an animal trail & a cafe/restaurant.

There is hotels running alongside the prom, many of which welcome dogs and venue cymru, a modern seafront entertainment complex can be found amongst them. Venue Cymru is not dog friendly so you will need to make arrangements for your dog if you want to catch a show.

The prom is very close to the town centre and public transport
